Luang Prabang 2017 - Royal Palace and Haw Pha Bang

One of the main sights in Luang Prabang is the Royal Palace which is now a history museum. The palace building itself is quite simple and not that impressive. We skipped the museum as there wasn't enough time. 

Right at the front of the Palace Complex is a very impressive temple - Haw Pha Bang covered in gold-gilded wall decorations. This temple is actually quite new - completed in 2006. It was built to house Laos' most sacred Buddha image. The cascading roof of the Temple is one of the most beautiful in town.
