Delhi 2018 - Connaught Place

Connaught Place is the main commercial and financial centre in New Delhi. It was developed under the Lutyens Masterplan for New Delhi. The planning is circular - with concentric rings of commercial buildings radiating out from a huge circular central park. Most of the buildings are 2-storey structures designed in Colonial Classical style. Construction started in 1929 and was completed in 1933.

It was here that we bumped into a musical instruments shop. The owner told us that they produced the original sitar used by Ravi Shankar - and had the photos to prove it.
