Kuching Happenings - Magic Babe Ning and JC Sum

Recently I was involved in organizing a big event in Kuching - the BTS Gala Dinner 2009. BTS is the Building Trade Show - the biggest building industry exhibition in Sarawak. The Gala Dinner is held on the first night of the Show.

Over the years, BTS Gala Dinner has become a much sought after event. We always bring in an A-List act. Past performers include Phua Chu Kang (PCK) from Singapore - who caused a sensation when he came to Kuching. We also had Harith Iskandar - the comedian from Kuala Lumpur. Incidentally, PCK and Harith are now working together in Phua Chu Kang Sdn Bhd, a comedy TV show based in Kuala Lumpur.

For this year's Gala Dinner, we were looking for an act to top all the previous acts. One day I happen to see a photo in FHM Magazine, and straight away I knew we found our act. It was Magic Babe Ning and JC Sum from Singapore.

JC Sum is Singapore's Mega-Illusionalist. Magic Babe Ning is Singapore's only professional female magician and touted by MagicSeen - a European magazine as the "Sexiest Woman in Magic". Together they have a daily show - "Ultimate Magic" at The Arena in Clarke Quay.

Magic Babe Ning has appeared in the pages of Stuff Magazine and FHM. When you see her pictures you will know why.

The first part of the show was a 15 min "Street Magic" segment by JC Sum. JC wowed the audience by turning a 10 ringgit note into a 50 ringgit note right in front of everyone's eyes. Then he did the spoon bending trick which was quite amazing. He finished off with a coin trick which still baffles the "unlucky" victim who had the coins in his hands and still couldn't figure out how JC changed from 2 to 3 coins.

The main event was a 30 min "Deadly Sexy Magic" by Magic Babe Ning. When Magic Babe came out, the audience were stunned into silence. She is definitely a "Babe" !

One lucky fella got to help Ning with her straitjacket trick.

For her final trick, Magic Babe managed to get into a small locked box in a split-second ! I guess if we know how it's done we don't need magicians.

I do not really care for the subject of your post but I can see it to be a benefit to some who read it.
