Bangkok 2011 - Honda Big Wing
Honda Big Wing is a small project by most standards. It is a 2-storey motor showroom on Pradimanutham Road in Bangkapi, a city district towards the north of Bangkok. Though completed, the building is not yet occupied.
Designed by one of the leading young architecture firms in Thailand - VaSlab, the design is uncompromisingly modern and futuristic. The forms are streamlined and fluid, reminiscent of Starchitect Zaha Hadid’s projects. The structure is mostly in off-form concrete - but finished in a light lime-wash. The virtuosity of the design is very impressive, and the detailing very innovative and confident.
