Bangkok 2011 - Crystal Design Centre
Crystal Design Centre - a huge lifestyle retail centre in Bangkok, is located on Pradimanutham Road in the Bangkapi District. It consists of several buildings showcasing furniture and building products, and also an outdoor mall. The scale and vision of this project is really impressive. Not only is it a very convenient retail centre for Bangkok urbanites looking for home furnishing and building products, it is also a very useful resource centre for design professionals. I wish we have one like this in Malaysia.
The furniture and design showrooms.
The main building which houses a conference centre, restaurants and cafes.
The outdoor mall - it is best to visit late afternoon or in the evenings when the temperature is a bit cooler.
The complex also houses several purpose-built structures by some of the leading building industry players in Thailand. If you are interested in architecture, design and interiors, it is well worth a visit. The easiest way to get there would be to use a taxi - it is around 40 min from downtown Bangkok. There is an MRT station a few kilometres away on Lat Phrao Road, but you still need to use a taxi to get to the Centre.
