Bali 2010 - Komaneka at Monkey Forest Road

The Komaneka at Monkey Forest Road was the first Komaneka Resort developed by Mr. Koman in Ubud, and it sets a pretty high standard. The design is Balinese with a modern touch. All the roofs are covered in traditional straw, but the layout and interior design are quite modern. Everything is finished to a very high standard of craftsmanship, and very well maintained.

The resort is actually tucked behind an imposing 2-storey art gallery - the Komaneka Gallery which houses some of Mr. Koman’s collections. On the ground floor is an art shop selling very nice selections of art pieces and handicrafts. Being hidden behind this building is great as it shelters the resort from the hustle and bustle on Monkey Forest Road which can get quite busy. The location is unbeatable as just at the doorstep of the resort is the popular Monkey Forest Road with great shops, cafes and lots of interesting nooks to explore.

The reception building.

The beautiful compound.

The rooms - some with views of the adjacent rice fields.

The secluded pool area.

The Komaneka at Monkey Forest Road is a great refuge for the guests of Komaneka. After our sojourns on Monkey forest Road, we often walk back there to take the shuttle back to Tanggayuda. The staff are so considerate that they will always remind you of the pick up times after drop-off.

One of the great perks of staying at Komaneka is that you can use the amenities at any of the resorts, including the complimentary afternoon tea. Hourly shuttles provide convenient connections to the 3 sister resorts or to Ubud Town Centre.
