Hanoi - Old Quarters 2

Wondering around the Old Quarters is like going back in time. You can feel the history which is still living and breathing. It feels very different from a place which has been polished and sanitized for the tourists. The French colonial influence is evident in many of the buildings.

the road looks slippery... was it muddy?

There is always a layer of slime on the roads, so you really have to navigate carefully. The Vietnamese motocyclists seem to be experts at it.

Probably not as bad as that. But tricky just the same.

Hi Rose. Yes, Vietnam is a really interesting country to visit, especially Hanoi and Halong Bay. If you go, make sure you also visit Hoi An - a World Heritage Site. I did not have a chance to visit during my last trip , but would definitely go back.

I’ve been to Ho Chi Minh City and I enjoyed my trip. Now my attention is drawn to Hanoi, which also an interesting destination. Hopefully I can pay a visit to this wonderful place.
