Prague 2016 - Lennon Wall

Lennon Wall is the most unique attraction in Prague. The wall is near the Kampa Island and started with small Lennon-inspired graffiti and lyrics from Beatles' songs in 1981. It became a symbol of freedom and rebellion against the communist regime in the 1980's.

The wall has been painted over by the authorities numerous times - but each time new graffiti reappears. In 2014 an anonymous group of students painted the wall over in  pure white and wrote the words "Wall is Over" on it - as a  commemoration of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and in their own words to "open room for new messages of the current generation". It provoked public outrage - as many feared a beloved landmark is gone. But soon the wall was fully covered in graffiti again.
