Eating in KL 2012 - Five Sen5es at The Westin

EEST - the pan-Asian restaurant at The Westin KL has been re-branded as Five Sen5es, a non-halal Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine. We went there for the dim sum brunch which is served on Saturdays and Sundays.

Besides dim sum, there are also other cooked dishes which you can help yourself to at the buffet stations. The dim sum is carried from table to table on trays, and you just pick what you want. Very convenient and a nice traditional touch.

We started with some roast duck. Peking Duck is one of the restaurant's specialties, and the duck was very nicely done.

The ubiquitous Siu Mai and Har Gao. The Siu Mai was good - crunchy and juicy with the sweet taste of pork and prawns. The Har Gao skin was a bit too thick and chewy but the filling was not bad.

Char Siu - juicy and tender as good Char Siu should be. We had seconds.

Deep fried Salmon Skin. Crunchy and addictive.

Stir fried yam cakes. Nicely done.

Sio Loong Bao - these are not as good as the Ding Tai Fung version.

Five Sen5es is still one of the most stylish Asian restaurants in KL, and if you happen to be staying in the Bukit Bintang area, it is a great option for a nice lunch or dinner.
