Eating in KL 2012 - Ben's at The Pavilion

Having tried and liked Ben's at SuriaKLCC, we were looking forward to our dinner at Ben's at The Pavilion. The design is similar but slightly different - menu is the same. The BIG Group seems to have a magic touch when it comes to their outlets - the place was packed !

We ordered a couple of starters - Spicy Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese and Char Grilled Calamari on Asian Greens. The wings were nicely marinated and packed with flavours - though a touch greasy. The salad was nice - though the dressing wasn't quite what I expected. It was salty and peppery, instead of the usual chili-lime Thai dressing which would have been better - I thought.

Our mains - Crab Meat LinguinePuttanesca. This was really good - chinks of crab meat cooked into a rich tasting tomato sauce.

The other main - Ben's Cheeseburger on a Sesame Seed Bun. The beef patty was a bit dry. Though the french fries were good, this was on the whole a disappointing dish.

So our 2nd experience at Ben's was a bit hit and miss. With so many outlets under the group, there are bound to be some rough edges. But the BIG Group has a formidable reputation for quality and consistency, and hopefully they will smooth over the kinks soon.
