Taipei 2012 - W Hotel

The arrival of a W Hotel in any city is usually a much anticipated event for the fashionistas, as W never fails to introduce something different when making additions to their fashion-focused brand. W Taipei opened in Fabruary 2011 and is now considered one of the most stylish hotels in the city.

The approach of W Hotel is a refreshing change from other chain hotels. Instead of going for a recognizable signature style for every hotel under the brand, each hotel is deliberately different. However they still managed to weave the brand’s DNA into every project. This is by no means an easy feat, and kudos to them for pulling it off.

W Taipei is located in the Xinyi District, within a stone’s throw to Taipei 101. When you arrive you will be immediately impressed by the stylish ground floor lobby. Like many new hotels, the actual reception is located on an upper level together with the lounge and other F&B outlets.

The design quality overall is impressive, and there are many clever and delightful touches which sets W apart from other design-oriented hotels. This is one hotel you should put on your list to visit if you go to Taipei.
