Penang 2013 - Pik Nik Cafe at Jalan Nagore

Jalan Nagore is an enclave of old shophouses which is just outside of the core heritage area. You can reach it easily by walking along Jalan Burma from Komtar Walk. There are lots of interesting cafes and restaurants on this quaint old street with colourful facades, but the main reason I went there was to visit Pik Nik Cafe

Pik Nik is one of the new generation of cafes that is popping up all over Georgetown. The main attraction is the colourful, quirky and charming decor. Started by a group of young entrepreneurs, the place is decorated with lots of interesting recycled objects and knick-knacks.

The main menu items are waffles - which can be sweet or savoury. As it was just snack time for me, I ordered an iced tea and waffle with ice cream. The waffle is very good - light and fluffy and complimented nicely by the fresh strawberries and ice cream.
