Hong Kong 2010 - Kowloon Park

Did you know that Kowloon actually has a very big park right in the middle of all that concrete jungle ? It is called Kowloon Park, and you can see it quite clearly on Google Maps. At 33 acres, this is huge by any standard - and especially in land-scarce Hong Kong where a square foot can cost as much as USD 5,000.

The Park is located along Nathan Road, in the centre of Tsim Sha Tsui area. From the road side, what you see are some shops next to a large public promenade. Walk through the gates and there is a totally different world inside.

The Park has several sections. There is an aquatics centre, large open plazas for various activities, and green spaces for relaxation.

Even at 6.00 a.m. the park starts to fill up with people. It's a real treat to be able to enjoy the luxury of space in such a densely populated city.
