Shanghai World Expo 2010 - Norway Pavilion

I was attracted to the Norway Pavilion by the beautiful timber structures which look like big trees, forming a canopy over the pavilion. The timber structures are decorated with intricate cut-out details, and the canopy is covered over with an architectural fabric. The line wasn’t too long, and before I knew it I was at the entrance.

The timber structures are quite beautiful.

Once you enter the pavilion you can see the whole big canopy-covered space. It is quite impressive. As for the exhibitions, there wasn’t much to look at, so it was another disappointment as far as contents is concerned.

Visitors are quite intrigued by this block of ice with animal paw prints imported all the way from Norway.

The Norway Pavilion is another one which looks beautiful from the outside, but kind of disappointing on the inside. If you are rushed for time, you can give this one a miss and just enjoy the beautiful external design.
