Hanoi - Old Quarters from Higher Up

It is always interesting to observe a city from a higher vantage point. You can see the  city pattern, and how it has grown over the years.

From here you can see that the Old Quarters is essential a network of narrow streets. Unlike modern cities which are very regimented, here the city looks organic and "lived-in". People are still building and adding on to the existing structures, kind of like a living-organism which is still growing.

I didn't know Halong bay is so far from Hanoi! And I also didn't know that it's such a big area to cover, that one needs to stay there for at least 2 days to visit all sites!

Thank you for sharing!

Hi Eunice. Actually you can stay much longer in Halong Bay if you want to visit all the interesting sites and have a more relaxing time. But most people would stay 2 days, with one night on the boat. All the meals are provided freshly cooked for you, but make sure you don't get seasick ! Usually they berth at a very sheltered area, so not really a big problem.
