Prague 2016 - Prague City

As one of the most prominent cities in Eastern Europe - Prague has been a popular tourist destination for quite some time. The city is home to around 1.3 million people and is often considered one of the most beautiful in Eastern Europe. Once you arrive in the city - you will see why.

Prague is divided by the Vltava River into East and West. On the East is the Old Town - and on the West the famous Prague Castle. The city is like an architectural museum with buildings of myriad architectural styles from different periods - Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and even Rococo buildings can be found here. Most of the buildings have been meticulously renovated and restored.

It is a compact city and quite easy to explore on foot. In fact it is quite pleasant to walk all the way from the Prague Castle to the Old Town Square.

Though the Castle and the Old Town Square are usually packed to the brim any time of the day - it is not difficult to escape from the crowd. Just venture into the side streets and alleys - the further you get from the Town Square - the thinner the crowd and soon you will be enjoying the beautiful streets and architecture away from the madding crowd.
