Delhi 2018 - Dinner at Lakhori

Lakhori is the in-house fine-dining restaurant inside Haveli Dharampura. Since opening in 2016 after a 5-year restoration - it has built up a reputation as one of the best places to enjoy authentic Northern Indian cuisine. They have an a la carte menu as well as a fixed dinner menu which allows you to sample a wide range of their dishes.

We went for the fixed menu which costs 2400 Rupees (around RM140) per person and comes with a welcome drink, several appetizers, 1 soup, 4 main dishes, and a dessert.

The appetizers include Palak Patta Chaat - deep-fried spinach fritters doused in a splattering of chutneys and yogurt - delicious! Dahi Puri - small crispy pastry shells filled with savoury sauces. Murg Ke Parchey - a very tasty chicken kebab. Paneer Tikka - cubes of grilled paneer cheese with bell peppers.

Among the mains were favourites like Butter Chicken and Mutton Rogan Josh. A selection of naans, biryani rice, and dips were served along with the main courses.

With the naan, several appetizers, main courses, and dessert - you will be more than satisfied, but you can actually order additional servings of the dishes that you like - and they will keep serving until you say stop. Some of the dishes are so good - it is impossible not to ask for seconds even though we were stuffed!

If you ever visit New Delhi - do yourself a favour and book a dinner at Lakhori. It may be the highlight of your trip!
