Penang 2016 - Hin Bus Depot Art Centre

Interesting places continue to crop up in Penang, and one of the newish places is Hin Bus Depot Art Centre. This is an abandoned bus depot that has been converted into a communal art space - with support from the state government - bravo to the government for supporting artistic endeavours. This was also where famous mural artist Ernest Zacharevic had his first solo exhibition and some of his beautiful works can be seen on various walls around the premises.

Inside the compound is an F&B outlet - Tavern In The Park which serves breakfast, crostinis and burgers.

There are several indoor and outdoor art spaces in the venue, and Sundays there is an art and craft market from 11am to 5pm.

It is good to see that the art scene is alive and well in Penang, and I will have to schedule my next visit to catch the Sunday art market.
