Johor Bahru 2012 - Lavender Bistro at Senai Airport

If you've been to the basement food court of Pavilion KL, you've probably come across Lavender Bakery. It actually originates from Johor Bahru, and I would say that their bread and pastries are a notch above Bread Story or even Bread Talk. Not surprisingly, they have an outlet at the Senai Airport. It is not a bakery, but rather a bistro in the same vein as the Secret Recipe outlets.

The decor is very nice - clean and modern and actually looks quite up-market. The menu is similar to other such outlets - a mix of local favourites, some pastas and some Western staples.

We each ordered our own and this was what we had. Char Kuih Teow.

 Teriyaki Chicken with rice.

I had the Aglio Olio with seafood, which was actually not bad. The pasta was al dente, and the seafood was fresh. It had a spicy kick from the generous amount of chili flakes.

I also ordered this Fruit Salad to share - and it impressively came with some fresh strawberries, mango, kiwi fruit and grapes. Nice !

If you are ever stuck at Senai Airport and need a place to eat, Lavender Bistro is actually not a bad choice. Definitely better then KFC or McDonald's.
