Bangkok 2015 - Laem Charoen Seafood at Siam Paragon

If you want to enjoy good seafood in Bangkok but do not want to brave the chaos and heat of the street - you are in luck! Laem Charoen is a popular local chain of seafood restaurants with several branches in shopping malls. The most convenient ones would be at Siam Paragon and Central World. The branch at Siam Paragon is quite stylish with cutting edge design and nice seating. To avoid the crowd - go before lunch hour or the dinner rush.

Laem Charoen is famous for its deep-fried sea bass so we ordered one for a start. The medium-sized sea bass was butterflied and deep-fried to perfection. The outside is crispy but the meat is still tender and sweet. You can dip the fish in the fish sauce for added taste - but it is good on its own. the best thing is almost every bit of the fish can be eaten - no wastage.

The stir-fried morning glory was also expertly done and very crunchy.

We also ordered an oyster omellete and it was a very good version - with crispy batter and very juicy oysters.

We only tried 3 dishes and all were good. The pricing is also very reasonable considering it is in a premium shopping mall. Would definitely go back again.
