Vienna 2016 - Vienna City
Vienna - the City of Music - has often been rated the most livable city in the World. In terms of musical heritage it is unrivalled - having been home to Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, the Strausses and numerous other musical luminaries. It was also the seat of the Habsburg Empire for several hundred years, so is rich in historical and architectural legacy. The Habsburgs were prolific builders and their monuments can be seen all over the City.
There are some really nice walking streets in Vienna.
The vintage trams are a convenient way to get around the city.
I expected to like Vienna a lot more then I actually did. It is no doubt impressive for its architectural splendour, lavish shops and glamorous lifestyle - but to me it lacked the more organic charm of Praque or Budapest. In the end it was a bit too orderly and stiff - dare I say a bit like Singapore ?
