Vienna 2016 - Graben Shopping Street
Graben is the main pedestrianized thoroughfare in Vienna's city centre. The origin of the street dates back to Roman times, however most of the buildings on the present street date back to the early 19th century when the street was widened by Duke Leopold VI. Many of the shops here have a long tradition and have been in existance since the Austrian monarchy - for example the porcelain shop Augarten, the court jeweler Heldwein and court perfumery Nagele & Strubell. Juxtaposed among these old shops are modern additions such as H&M and Zara.
