Eating in Singapore - Food Republic at Vivocity

I have posted on Food Republic before - the one at Pavilion KL. Now we come to the mothership in Singapore. This Food Republic Food Court at Vivocity pulls out all the stops in terms of design.

The theme is Old Singapore. The design makes use of recycled old doors, store fronts, windows and other found objects. It is charming and interesting, giving you another dimension of enjoyment while you are eating.

There is a large selection of local favourites like laksa, noodles, fried rice, lok-lok, yong tau foo, etc. One of the most popular stalls seems to be the prawn noodles (hay mee) stall. People were queuing up for the noodles.

Stalls are constructed from recycled storefronts and old materials.

The balusters made of old windows and wood panels. Even the mosaics are old designs used in traditional kopitiams. It's amazing that the designers could still find them.

Their service at their Suntec Branch are really lousy, before you can finish the food, the service staff come over & want to remove your plate. The food sold there is also so-so only.
