Beijing 2018 - The Great Wall at Mutianyu
This was my 2nd visit to the Great Wall. My first visit was to the Badaling Section. This time it is the Mutianyu Section which is quite near Sunrise Kempinski Hotel. Mutianyu is the most fully-restored section of the Great Wall, and that is why it is very popular with foreign visitors. It also has a cable car service that can save you the pain of climbing up to the Great Wall. This was the section that Michelle Obama visited during the 2014 APEC Meeting.
It is always an awe-inspiring experience visiting the Great Wall. The majestic mountainous landscape, the winding Great Wall on the ridges – looking like the body of a dragon, I could only imagine the efforts and sacrifices it took to get it built.
