Shenzhen & Dongguang 2010 - Dinner at El Chino Restaurant Shenzhen InterContinental
Since we had a pretty good dim sum lunch at El Chino - the Chinese restaurant at Shenzhen InterContinental Hotel, we decided to also have our dinner there. This is a Cantonese restaurant and the food would be quite familiar to anyone who has been to Hong Kong. We ordered a few dishes to have with rice. Taste-wise the food is definitely a few notches above the run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurants here. Surprisingly though - we were the only table at the restaurant that night. That may be because this is quite a pricey restaurant by local standards.
Braised Eggplants with Salted Fish.
Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs.
Braised Seafood with Tofu.
Wok-fried Mushrooms. Perfectly cooked.
Greens with Mince Pork, Dried Scallops in superior stock.
Stir-fried Rice Noodles. Very simple yet delicious - a testament to the wok-frying skills of the chefs.
The food at El Chino may be quite standard Cantonese style, but the execution is excellent. This is definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants I have come across in China. You should give it a try.
