Melbourne Architecture - Part II

Continuing with my journey through some of the most interesting architecture in Melbourne, I would like to share with you some more of my discoveries.

This apartment building is at the corner of Queen Street and Franklin Street, a stone's throw away from the Victoria Market. Designed by Melbourne starchitect Nonda Katsalidis, it features his bold, almost brutalist forms, neo-Classical detailing and impressive command of his own blend of architectural language. 

The Victoria County Court, a building which was part of the New Wave in Melbourne Architecture. This marked a move away from the typical Modernist straight lines and functionalist forms, and injected a bit of the irrational and individualistic form-making which is a hallmark of current Australian design. This building is at the corner of William Street and Londsdale Street.

An apartment building in Chapel Street. 

A group of buildings which show the quirky side of current Australian architecture.

The Storey Hall of RMIT on Swanston Street. A refurbishment which completely transformed the original building and gave an early taste of the New Wave of architectural design in Australia. 

An office building at the Docklands. 

Another offfice building at the Docklands. Are the horizontal lines on the facade straight or crooked ?
